Why self-help, coaching and talk-therapy haven’t worked
Self-help, such as books and YouTube videos, creates a ton of “ah ha!” moments but little change. Otherwise I wouldn’t be in business. Just telling you what to do generally won’t work.
The same goes for standard coaching. I can say “make a to-do list”, “get a productivity planner”, “juice every morning”, but that won’t shift deeply ingrained behaviours.
Imagine that there are parts in your brain which were created at a young age to navigate the world, and those parts are in conflict.
Does barking orders at two young siblings arguing sound like a good plan?
No. It just makes them dig their heels in further.
But now imagine coaxing the scared part of you into dialogue, based on a shared understanding.
That feels way different and is one reason hypnotherapy can work so fast.
